Our school is funded in two ways, by the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) and by the Griffin Fund. At Glenview we ask families to provide financial support to the Griffin Fund twice a year: once in the fall as a direct ask to donate and once in the spring as part of the Read-a-Thon. That's it. We strive to make all of our school events free to the community.
As we begin the 2023-2024 school year, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is excited to share that the PTA plans to fund over $1,050 per student for academic programs and enrichment activities that are not provided by OUSD. As a school community we must raise $340,000 this year to sustain these critical programs.
No matter what you can give, donations of any amount make a difference. We are asking families to contribute $550 per student. If you are able, please consider giving above the per student amount to help fill the gaps. We care about each and every family in our community, and the money we raise together supports every Glenview student. This year’s Griffin Fund campaign runs September 18 to October 7, 2023.
Your contribution will support classroom supplies and field trips, music education, HERO Inc. recess coach, academic mentors, and more.
