Ms. Bowers has been teaching in Oakland since 2001 and started at Glenview in 2013. She studied Literature at UC Santa Cruz and at the University of Birmingham in England and then earned her teaching credential at San Francisco State.
Ms. Bowers loves that every day is different and the "lightbulb" moments that students have when learning clicks. When she is not teaching, Ms. Bowers enjoys dancing, attending the ballet, visiting national parks, collecting pressed pennies, and volunteering at the Cat Town Cafe. Her favorite children's books are The Velveteen Rabbit and Where The Wild Things Are. She hopes to one day visit Madagascar to see wild lemurs!
