Mr. Takimoto is an East Bay native, attending El Cerrito High School before leaving to major in music at the University of Oregon. After returning to the East Bay, Matt spent four years as an after-school programs coordinator, as well as two years teaching music to 2nd through 8th graders at Raskob Learning Institute in Oakland. He then went on to earn his master's degree and teaching credential from the Developmental Teacher Education program at the University of California, Berkeley. Matt is excited to have started his elementary classroom teaching career at such a supportive and welcoming school as Glenview!
Matt sings and plays the trumpet, trombone, tuba, and ukulele; is afraid of heights; and posts pictures of nearly everything he eats on Instagram.
