Megan Schenker-Johnson

Ms. Schenker-Johnson first joined Glenview in 2015 as the Technology and Garden Teacher for a year and then came back in 2017. She is ecstatic to be at Glenview. She loves getting to know each of the students, parents, and family members of the Glenview community! She received her credential and Masters from UC Berkeley’s Developmental Teacher Education program which focuses on the cognitive development of children through a social justice lens.

Ms. Schenker-Johnson grew up in Southern California and has been calling the Bay Area home for over 9 years. She got her BA in Communication Studies at San Francisco State University. This is where her interests and studies in equity, gender, race, philosophy, and social justice came into focus. She moved across the bay to live with her partner and discovered her love of teaching. She developed and created her own enrichment art-integrated and inquiry based classes. While working at the JCC of East Bay, she became acquainted with Glenview when she picked up students.

When Ms. Schenker-Johnson is not teaching, she is spending time with her two dogs, Bowie & Zora, going for hikes, binge-watching movies or tv series, gardening, listening to records, painting, or heading up to the mountains with her partner, Myke.
