Glenview's Annual Spelling Bee will take place in November with grades 2 through 5 will be participating.
Students in grades 2-5 are all sent home with spelling lists in October. Then, sometime in late November or December each class will have a written spelling test, oral spelling bee, or a combination of both to determine a class champion.
The class champions will then compete against each other to determine a grade level champion at the Glenview Spelling Bee in February. Because the 4th and 5th graders have the same spelling list, the grade level champions from those grades then compete to determine the school champion.
The school champion goes on to represent Glenview at the OUSD Spelling Bee. Winnersof the district spelling bee go on to compete at the Alameda County Spelling Bee, which feeds into the California State Spelling Bee circuit.
