The Glenview Elementary PTA is an active, volunteer organization committed to supporting students and teachers through the enrichment of academics, promoting a safe and clean learning environment, and welcoming, respecting, and engaging all families in the school community.
Over the years, Glenview Elementary PTA membership has grown in significant numbers, and parent involvement has increased noticeably. The PTA contributes to enriching all students’ experiences at Glenview Elementary through events such as the Halloween Carnival and Haunted House, the Read-a-Thon, the Science Fair, Movie Nights, Book Fair and Author’s Night, field trips, and performing arts assemblies, to name a few.
In recent years, the PTA has improved the school’s environment by reorganizing, updating book classifications and running the school library, bringing tablets into every classroom, purchasing and building a state-of-the-art playground structure, creating an edible garden, planting a native plants garden, implementing a food scraps composting program, and installing a playground turf field. In addition, the PTA supplements funding to ensure that Glenview Elementary students have performing arts and dance instruction, and kindergarten classroom aides.
All of this is possible because of parent volunteers and three major fundraisers: the Griffin Fund, the Read-a-Thon, and the Glenview Village Faire. Everyone is welcome at all PTA-sponsored activities.
