READ-A-THON DAY 10: In this final day of our read- READ-A-THON DAY 10: In this final day of our read-a-thon, many celebrated children's authors will be reading to Glenview students. For us parents, we wanted to highlight the Glenview community's own published authors. We are so proud to have them. Swipe to say hello. #justcanthidethatGlenviewpride

ANDREANA's book "The Hip-Hop Generation Fights Back" came out in 2012 and is about youth activism in Oakland, which Andreana studied in the early 2000s. Son Otis is in Mr. Gilley's class this year.

SARU's book, "Forked," examines how restaurants treat everyone from bussers to line cooks. It peeks behind the scenes to show how restaurants pay and treat their employees, with the hope it changes the way readers think about dining out. The book is dedicated to her two Glenview girls, Akeela, who is in 5th grade, and Lina, who is in 3rd grade.

CYRUS's 2018 book, "Habeas Data," is a nonfiction book about 50 years of surveillance law in America. His daughter is in 1st grade at Glenview.

CARA's "The Color of Life" is a spiritual memoir about Cara's journey as a white woman into issues of race and justice. Cara is a proud mom to Canon, a second grader, and Theo, a kindergartener. Go Griffins!

ZACH is the Executive Director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, author of "Defund Fear: Safety Without Policing, Prisons, and Punishment," and co-founder of Restore Oakland. Zach is also a co-founder of Justice for Families, a national alliance of family-driven organizations working to end our nation's youth incarceration epidemic. He has two daughters at Glenview.

REMI's "Becoming a Parent Ambassador: An Unconventional Alternative to Traditional Education Reform" is an analysis premised on mediums such as parent knowledge, community mobilization, and sustainable civic involvement, which all lead to direct impacts on meaningful change in the household, educational culture, and the greater community.

SUSSI has self-published two books in The Travelers Detective Series and has finished the first draft of the third. Her son is a 5th grader at Glenview.
