Rochelle Jacobs

Ms. Jacobs has taught kindergarten and first grade for 11 years at Franklin Elementary, OUSD; and 7 years at Thousand Oaks Elementary, BUSD.  She has spent the past 2 years as a Makerspace Prep teacher at La Escuelita, OUSD. Some of her favorite words to hear from students are, “Ms. Jacobs! Look what I made!”

Before becoming a teacher, she studied at the Dell’Arte School of Physical Theatre and toured all over California and the Pacific Northwest performing educational theater programs at schools, libraries, and community centers.

It’s hard for her to choose a favorite book; there are so many! She used to be obsessed with the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. More childhood favorites include From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler, Harriet the Spy, and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.

Ms. Jacobs lives in Oakland. When she is not teaching, she enjoys singing, making mosaics, cooking, and spending time with her family. She is very excited to be joining the Glenview community.
